Each year in November/December, the Dennis Historical Society makes a request for donations in the form of its Annual Appeal. For the past two years, this appeal has been "museum specific." It will continue to be so focused in the future. The goal is to have our membership choose, and then contribute to support a project which will enhance the educational experience at one of the museums. Please write the name of the museum project you wish to support on the memo line. If you wish to contribute online, use the Donate button below. When you donate online, please email us at info@dennishistoricalsociety.org and tell us which museum project you wish to support.
In addition, we continue to welcome donations any time of the year to our general fund, or one of the funds listed. This can be done by mailing your check to the address above and writing either general fund, or the fund of your choice on the memo line. If you wish to contribute online, please use the Donate button below, and email us at info@dennishistoricalsociety.org and tell us how you would like to designate your gift.

A great way to make sure that your love of history is remembered by future generations is to remember The Dennis Historical Society, Inc. in your will. - Physical Items
From time to tome, families wish to donate family heirlooms to the Society. We are always grateful for these offers and recognize their value to Dennis. However, due to our limited space, we must evaluated each item for how it best fits to our collections. Should you wish to donate an item to our Society, pleas contact us at info@dennishistoricalsociety.org and we will promptly contact you.
Funds
- General Fund
Used for general operating expenses of the Society. - History/Publishing Fund
Used to publish relevant histories and articles relating to the Town of Dennis. - Maritime Fund
Established in memory of Robert Eldred Sr. Used for maritime acquisitions (paintings etc.). - Chase Fund
Established in his honor Daniel Chase by his wife. Used to acquire books and ephemera. - Howes Family Fund
Established for donations to DHS for programs, events and projects specifically involving or dedicated to the Howes Family. - Ickes Fund
Funded by the estate of Ms. Marguerite Ickes. For programs and lectures to be originated or conducted at the Josiah Dennis Manse and West Dennis Schoolhouse and land surrounding these buildings or renovations and improvements on said buildings and grounds. These funds can be used for acquisitions to enhance programs. - Friends of West Dennis Graded School House
Used with the approval of the said committee. - Jericho Fund
Used for Jericho with the approval of the said committee. - Scholarship Fund
Established to assist a Dennis resident and graduating senior of Dennis Yarmouth Regional High School who has been accepted and is planning to attend a four year college or university majoring in education or history. - Van Inderstine Fund
Established to honor Raymond and Mildred Van Inderstine by son Harry, his wife Pamela and their daughter Megan, the fund is used for the storage, protection and preservation of environmentally sensitive artifacts when they are not on display. - Memorial Funds
Funded through donations in honor of family and friends, in memory of loved ones, endowments, and for those deceased whose instructions indicated that donations be made to DHS. These funds shall be used for purposes decided and voted upon by the Executive Board.
